Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen’s stark turnaround in fortunes since the turn of the year has been highlighted by Italian media.

The Denmark international joined from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2020 but failed to make an impact in his first 12 months at the club, leading to suggestions Inter would look to sell him in the most recent transfer window.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the 29-year-old is expected to be amongst the starters in tomorrow’s Serie A match against Napoli after emerging as one of coach Antonio Conte’s most important players.

A last-minute freekick to win the Coppa Italia Quarter-Final clash against AC Milan in January is cited as the turning point for Eriksen, whilst he has shone against stronger opposition than more tightly-packed defences.

The newspaper also pointed to his goal against Napoli in the Coppa Italia Semi-Final last season as evidence of his importance in big games, although it was an isolated occasion in an underwhelming year.

Meanwhile, his partnership with Marcelo Brozovic in the middle has allowed the Croatian more space and time to make an impact on matches.
