With the Italian government considering the possibility of allowing fans to return to Serie A matches, Inter’s clash against Roma could be amongst the standout fixtures.

As reported in yesterday’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Prime Minister Mario Draghi has been discussions over a return to spectators for sporting and entertainment events, with a view to having crowds from 1 May.

Whilst nothing is official yet, with Draghi set to meet with his cabinet on Thursday, potential plans would allow for up to 1000 attendees for outdoor events, whilst any indoor events would be limited to 500 people.

The newspaper has considered some of the matches that may see fans in attendance, with the final five rounds of the Serie A season likely to be affected.

Inter are due to face Crotone on 1 May but this could continue to be played behind closed doors, with the region of Calabria lagging behind in it’s vaccination programme and still considered at a higher level of risk.

The Nerazzurri’s standout home fixture of the final rounds comes against Europa League semi-finalists Roma however, set to be played on 12 May.

Meanwhile, Inter travel to Juventus the following weekend and could face the Bianconeri with a crowd in the Allianz Stadium, as they look to wrap up the Scudetto.
