Inter and Suning are working to ensure Steven Zhang does not have to complete a quarantine period when he returns to Milan next week, according to a report in the Italian media today.
La Repubblica’s print edition said Zhang might be able to avoid isolation in Nanjing and Milan (before and after his flight) by completing COVID-19 tests upon departure and arrival.
Inter are in contact with the Italian authorities to see if such a solution is possible, with Suning said to be doing the same in China.
China’s policy of vaccinating under-60s first means Zhang might already have had a COVID-19 vaccine, the report highlighted.
Zhang is due to return to Inter at some point in the next fortnight with Antonio Conte seeking clarity ahead of next season, as per another report today.
Conte wants to find out what Suning’s plans are and whether Inter will be able to make any investments in the transfer window.
