Ex-Inter defender Daniele Adani has suggested that Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic would be the ideal replacement for Romelu Lukaku, should the Belgian leave.

Lukaku has struck 21 league goals to propel Inter to top spot in Serie A, as Antonio Conte’s side edge closer to the Scudetto, but has drawn interest from Premier League club Manchester City.

Appearing as a guest on the Twitch stream of former Nerazzurri striker Christian Vieri earlier today, as reported by L’Interista.it, Adani assessed the ability of 21-year-old Vlahovic and claimed that he would suit Serie A’s top clubs, including Inter.

“Fiorentina do not want to sell Vlahovic, but if he goes he could join a big name in our league, like Milan or Juventus. Maybe he could go to Inter if Lukaku joins Manchester City,” Adani claimed.

Vlahovic has enjoyed a prolific season with Fiorentina and struck 16 goals in 31 Serie A games, including seven in his last six appearances and a goal against Hellas Verona last time out.

The Serbia international joined Fiorentina from Partizan in 2018 and has scored 24 goals in 78 appearances for the Viola.

Adani represented Inter from 2002 to 2004, having joined the club from Fiorentina where he won the Coppa Italia in 2001.
