Having established a nine-point lead at the top of the Serie A table Inter have begun planning for next season and will look to bring in Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico.

Antonio Conte’s side are on course for a first Scudetto since 2010, but plans are already being laid to strengthen the squad for next term.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are facing a difficult financial summer regardless of a title success, and may need to offload a star name in order to generate funds.

Inter will release English wing-back Ashley Young at the end of his contract and will focus attention on Tagliafico, with the Argentine available for €15 million. However, he has also drawn attention from Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and Leeds United, with Inter facing competition for his signature.

Meanwhile, the newspaper suggests that the Nerazzurri may cash in on striker Lautaro Martinez, particularly after he hired agent Alejandro Camano.

The former Racing Club striker has no intention of leaving and is closing in on a new contract, but his agent’s strong presence in Spanish football could lead to new offers, and Inter may consider a large sum for him.

Should Martinez be sold, the Nerazzurri will focus attention on bringing in an experienced striker to replace him, with Roma star Edin Dzeko the most likely candidate.

The Bosnia international was close to joining Inter in January after a dispute with Giallorossi coach Paulo Fonseca, but it would depend on Roma being willing to release him and the player reducing his wage demands.
