Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has attracted interest from across Europe, with Inter being joined by Juventus and Barcelona in the race to secure him on a free transfer.

The Argentina international is set to depart the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season following the expiry of his contract, with City announcing that they will not offer him a new deal.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, Barcelona are the front runners whilst Juventus are keen to sign him, but Inter may be hindered by the finances involved to bring him to the club.

Aguero has demanded a €7-8 million contract for two seasons from Barcelona and this could prove difficult for Inter to match, particularly for a player who will turn 33 in June.

Inter are currently looking to reduce their wage bill and could in fact be forced to sell a key player in order to balance the books, with striker Lautaro Martinez tipped by the newspaper to be sacrificed.

The Nerazzurri continue to monitor Aguero’s situation and are not out of the running for him, but are remaining cautious as they fall behind their competitors.
