Antonio Conte is enjoying a huge contribution from his wing-backs as Inter charge towards the Serie A title, as explained by a report in Italy today.

Tuttosport’s print edition noted that three of the Nerazzurri’s last four goals had been scored by wing-backs, underlining their importance in Conte’s 3-5-2 system.

Matteo Darmian scored the winner in both of Inter’s last two home games against Cagliari and Hellas Verona, while Ivan Perisic scored their equaliser at Spezia last week.

Achraf Hakimi provided the assists for all three goals, with the Moroccan now up to seven assists for the season in Serie A.

As per the Turin-based paper, Hakimi is one of only two wing-backs in Europe’s major five leagues to have reached at least six goals and six assists this season.

Atalanta’s Robin Gosens is the other, a player Inter are reportedly hoping to sign in the summer as per a report elsewhere today.
