Piero Ausilio was busy keeping tabs yesterday on three youngsters who could have futures at Inter, a report in the Italian media has revealed.
FcInterNews.it said the Nerazzurri’s sporting director attended the Stadio Brianteo to watch Monza secure a 1-0 win at home to Lecce in Serie B.
Inter have goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio and centre-back Lorenzo Pirola on loan at Monza, both of whom are yet to sort their futures beyond the end of this season.
However, Ausilio was also in attendance to watch Lecce striker Pablo Rodriguez, who has previously been linked with Inter and is impressing everyone with his progress under Eugenio Corini.
Lecce are huge fans of their 19-year-old forward and could be set for a very healthy sum of money if they choose to sell him in the summer.
Rodriguez only featured for 15 minutes on Tuesday though, coming on as a second-half substitute without managing to score an equaliser for the visitors.
As far as Di Gregorio is concerned, Monza have an option to purchase the Inter goalkeeper for €8 million and his impressive performances this season mean ‘anything is still possible’.
Di Gregorio could join Monza permanently, return to Inter and be sold elsewhere or even act as a back-up for Samir Handanovic next season.
Pirola is in a similar position, the report added, having caught the eye in recent weeks since nailing down a spot in Monza’s starting XI.
