Inter have made an enquiry to Barcelona about signing Miralem Pjanic, according to a report in the Spanish media today.

As per Catalan newspaper Sport, the Nerazzurri and Chelsea have both asked about a possible deal for the midfielder, who is expected to leave in the summer after struggling for game time under Ronald Koeman.

The 31-year-old has not featured in any of Barcelona’s last 10 La Liga games and is therefore considered expendable should the right offer arrive.

However, Pjanic was signed for more than €60 million last summer – when Barcelona swapped him for Arthur with Juventus – which makes it unlikely Inter would be able to afford the Bosnian.

Pjanic has made 28 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions, without providing any goals or assists, last playing for Koeman’s side in a 3-0 win at home to Elche on February 24.

Last week, Inter’s former forward Antonio Cassano argued the ex-Juventus and Roma midfielder would be a perfect signing for the Nerazzurri to play alongside Nicolo Barella and Christian Eriksen.
