Achraf Hakimi seems very unlikely to swap Inter for Bayern Munich, at least if you listen to their president.
Hakimi was linked with a move to the German champions earlier this week after their new head coach Julian Nagelsmann reportedly requested his signing.
However, the 22-year-old’s agent has denied being in contact with Bayern Munich and now their president appears to have ruled out a move.
“I don’t see the need to make more expensive signings,” Herbert Hainer told German tabloid Bild on their ‘Bayern-Insider’ podcast.
“We have a young and incredibly strong team with huge potential, so I’m not worried.
“I’m pleased when great players are linked with Bayern Munich and when people say they’d like to join us.
“But Hakimi would cost a load of money, at least listening to what the media say.”
Hakimi joined Inter in a €40 million deal from Real Madrid last summer and was a key figure in helping the Nerazzurri secure the Serie A title.
The Moroccan international has scored seven goals and provided eight assists in all competitions, most recently finding the net during last Saturday’s 2-0 win at Crotone.
Antonio Conte has developed Hakimi into a complete wing-back for his 3-5-2 system, so it is no surprise there are big clubs being linked.
Bayern Munich seem to be ruling themselves out of the running though, having reportedly already tried to sign Hakimi last summer.
