Lautaro Martinez is looking forward to Inter meeting Juventus on Saturday as the new Serie A champions.
The Nerazzurri have nothing but pride to play for in the fourth and final Derby d’Italia of the season, but Antonio Conte will be eager to lay down a marker ahead of next season.
Juventus have everything at stake at the weekend as Andrea Pirlo’s side continue to chase qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
“It was important to go there and play the game with the scudetto already secured,” Lautaro told Sky Sport Italia, in an interview which was recorded before last night’s altercation with Antonio Conte during Inter’s 3-1 win over Roma.
“They had won for nine straight years and we hadn’t won for 11 years.
“Last season we lost the Europa League final and so we wanted to win something this year, and we won the scudetto.
“We’ll go to Turin with Inter’s 19th league title in the bag.”
Inter won the pair’s previous meeting in the league this season, recording a comfortable 2-0 victory at San Siro in January thanks to goals from Arturo Vidal and Nicolo Barella.
The Nerazzurri were knocked out of the Coppa Italia semi-finals by their arch rivals though, losing 2-1 at home before drawing 0-0 at the Allianz Stadium in February.
