Alessandro Bastoni is on the verge of signing a new contract at Inter, according to the defender’s entourage.
Inter are battling serious financial problems and this has forced the Nerazzurri to halt negotiations with several players, reportedly including Bastoni and Lautaro Martinez.
Bastoni’s agent criticised Inter’s conduct earlier this week, urging them to act more ‘normally’, but now one of the centre-back’s representatives has lowered the temperature.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss on Thursday, Fausto Pari assured: “We only need to sign the renewal, that’s all that’s missing.
“We’ve had an agreement with Inter since February.”
Bastoni is one of Inter’s most prized assets after a spectacular second season under Antonio Conte, which has seen the 22-year-old develop into one of Europe’s most promising young defenders.
The Italy international has provided three assists for the Nerazzurri in Serie A this year, including a spectacular long-range pass for Nicolo Barella during a 2-0 win over Juventus in January.
Bastoni’s future remains uncertain due to Inter’s financial issues, with a report in Italy today claiming he was one of two players who could be sold if the club needed a sacrifice.
