Antonio Conte was urged to stay at Inter by a throng of Nerazzurri fans outside Appiano Gentile earlier, according to a leading Italian broadcaster.
Conte is widely expected to meet Inter president Steven Zhang later today, where the pair will discuss Suning’s plans for the club and clarify Conte’s future.
As per Sky Sport Italia (via FcInterNews.it), Conte treated himself to a moment of relaxation outside training this morning, greeting fans outside the gates by signing autographs and posing for selfies.
Lots of the Inter fans present took the opportunity to plead with him to stay for next season, but all should become clear in a few hours’ time.
Zhang is thought to be ‘very confident’ he can persuade Conte to stay at Inter, as per another report today, especially after Suning agreed a €275 million financing deal with Oaktree Capital.
Conte’s future is likely to have a big influence on the future of several key players, such as Romelu Lukaku, who could opt to follow him out of the club if he walks out.
