Antonio Conte is only prepared to let certain players leave Inter in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Conte is due to meet with Steven Zhang and Inter’s directors to discuss his future at the club, although the summit could be delayed until tomorrow or later this week.

Il Giorno’s print edition said Inter’s transfer plans would be a key point of discussion whenever they met, with Conte seeking reassurance that he would not lose his key players if he stayed.

If this reassurance cannot be granted, Conte will find it very difficult to find any middle ground with owners Suning and could leave.

Inter thrashed Udinese 5-1 in their final game of the season yesterday and that was probably the last chance for four players to wear the Nerazzurri shirt: Ashley Young, Aleksandar Kolarov, Daniele Padelli, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Andrea Ranocchia.

All five players are out of contract next month and Inter are only prepared to offer them extensions on reduced terms.

If the Nerazzurri offload all those players plus people like Arturo Vidal, who has disappointed this season and earns €6.5 million annually, Conte might be able to stay.
