Inter would not be caught out if Antonio Conte chose to leave the club, according to a leading Italian broadcaster today.
Sky Sport Italia (via FcInter1908.it) said the Nerazzurri didn’t have a Plan B at present because their absolute priority was to continue working with Conte.
However, if Conte opted not to remain then Inter would have alternative options lined up and would be quick to sound them out over a deal.
Conte is awaiting a meeting with club president Steven Zhang which could have huge repercussions on the Nerazzurri’s immediate future.
Inter will need to move quick to secure a replacement if they are unable to reach an agreement with Conte, if and when they hold talks.
Sky’s report did not mention any names as possible alternatives, but Massimiliano Allegri and Simone Inzaghi – who is out of contract at Lazio – were both linked by another report in Italy today.
