Cagliari will find it very difficult to keep hold of rumoured Inter target Nahitan Nandez, the Rossoblu’s former midfielder Andrea Lazzari has warned.

Inter are in talks with Cagliari over a permanent deal for Radja Nainggolan and the clubs are struggling to make any progress.

One potential solution, as per multiple reports in Italy, would be to include Nandez in the deal after he impressed during the 2020-21 season.

“Nandez had a great end to the season,” Lazzari, who also had two spells at Fiorentina, told TuttoMercatoWeb on Thursday.

“It will be tough for Cagliari to keep him, let’s see where he’ll go: I think he’s found his ideal dimension there.

“We shouldn’t underestimate the importance of what the player wants, in that sense.”

Nandez made 34 appearances in all competitions for Cagliari last season, scoring twice and providing three assists under Eusebio Di Francesco and Leonardo Semplici.

The 25-year-old is one of several players being touted as possible replacements for Achraf Hakimi, who seems destined to join Paris Saint-Germain in the next few weeks.

Davide Zappacosta and Emerson Royal have also been linked with Inter, although a report yesterday claimed they would probably not sign anyone because Matteo Darmian would be promoted instead.
