Cagliari have set a deadline for the permanent transfer of Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan, with the Rossoblu wanting the player no later than July 12.

This according to today’s print edition of Cagliari-based newspaper L’Unione Sarda, who report that Cagliari will not wait after the set date to finalize negotiations.

The Belgian spent last season on loan with the Sardinian club, and hopes that his stay at the club can be made permanent for next season.

Cagliari want the player, and Inter are also hoping to transfer him away from the Giuseppe Meazza to get his wages off the books, but his transfer has been held up.

At the moment, negotiations appear to be stuck on the matter of the player’s demand for €700,000 in severance pay, which the Nerazzurri are not currently willing to pay.

It is thought that the Nerazzurri will want to return to the negotiations soon with the departure of the 33-year-old a priority, but it is not yet clear what developments will take place, although Cagliari’s deadline suggests a concrete timeframe in which to expect updates.
