Inter are monitoring the situation of Manchester United midfielder Donny Van de Beek, with the club considering an attempt to sign the player on loan.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the player could depart from Old Trafford this summer with his playing time having been restricted, but the player’s first choice would not be in Serie A.

Van de Beek joined Manchester United last summer from Ajax for €44 million, but has so far failed to impress at the English club, with the player not being a regular starter under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, in addition to having his minutes limited by injuries.

It is thought that the 24-year-old could look to leave his current club this summer on loan, with United willing to part ways with the midfielder permanently.

Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio is a long-time admirer of Van de Beek’s having made an attempt to sign the midfielder on loan in January when it was thought that Christian Eriksen could depart the San Siro.

However, the Dutchman prefers a move to another Premier League club or one of La Liga’s biggest clubs over a switch to a Serie A side it is thought, with Roma and AC Milan also making inquiries about the player.

It remains to be seen what the player’s situation will be, though for now a move to Inter does not look likely.
