Inter consider Barcelona’s Jordi Alba a target and are already in talks with the Blaugranas and ready to submit an offer for the player, according to reports from Spain.

Today’s print edition of Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim that the Nerazzurri have decided to submit an offer for the 32-year-old after identifying him as a target.

It is thought that a left-sided player is a priority for Inter in the summer transfer market, and Alba could be the player who the club turn to for the role in Simone Inzaghi’s squad.

At the moment it is thought that only preliminary contacts have been made between the Nerazzurri and the Blaugranas about the transfer of the player, currently at the Euros with Spain.

Additionally, it should be noted that Mundo Deportivo’s report contains factual inaccuracies, namely the claim that the only players who can play on the left for the Nerazzurri are Aleksandr Kolarov (who is out of contract at the end of the month and won’t renew) and Ashley Young (who has already been unveiled as an Aston Villa player for next season).

In reality, the likes of Matteo Darmian, Ivan Perisic, Federico Dimarco, and Danilo D’Ambrosio are all players in the Nerazzurri’s squad who are able to fill the role.
