Inter’s top target for the left wing-back position is still Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso, and the club are not seriously considering Barcelona’s Jordi Alba.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported moments ago air on his show Calciomercato l’Originale that rumours coming from the Spanish press today that Inter are looking to sign Alba are not true.

The Nerazzurri are thought to have made the left side of Simone Inzaghi’s squad a priority in the upcoming transfer market, with Ashley Young having departed already and Ivan Perisic linked to a move away.

In recent days it has been reported that Alonso is the top target for the position, and Di Marzio reports that this is still the case.

Alonso has been offered to Inter by Chelsea as part of a deal to bring Achraf Hakimi from the Giuseppe Meazza to Stamford Bridge, though it is thought that the Nerazzurri will try to sign the player regardless of the outcome of the Hakimi transfer saga.

It is thought that once Hakimi is sold for a large fee, Inter will begin to move for a left-sided target, whoever that may be, with the outgoing sale of the Moroccan providing enough funds to bring in a player in the position.
