Inter are looking at PSV’s Denzel Dumfries as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi with the Moroccan looking set to depart for PSG, but the 25-year-old could be out of reach due to the fee involved.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Dutchman’s price could rice beyond Inter’s budget due to his eye-catching performances at the Euros.

Hakimi’s departure looks to be imminent in the coming days, with PSG likely to come in with an offer that’s very close to the €70 million the Nerazzurri want including add-ons and the club needing to make a major sale before June 30 due financial targets linked with Oaktree financing.

Chelsea are still in the running to make an offer which includes €55 million and left-sided Inter target Marcos Alonso, but this is a less likely possibility.

The club are prioritizing a move for a left-sided player for the squad with it remaining to be seen whether Chelsea would negotiate for Alonso’s sale should Inter sell Hakimi to PSG over them, and reports from Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo claiming that the club have made an offer for Barcelona’s Jordi Alba denied by the club.

On the right-hand side of the squad, meanwhile, the Nerazzurri will look to replace Hakimi with a player of a similar profile once he departs.

Barcelona’s Emerson Royal was thought to be a target at one point, but it is believed that during discussions with the player’s representatives complications emerged which make his arrival at the Giuseppe Meazza unlikely.

PSV’s Denzen Dumfries has also come up as one of the Nerazzurri’s top targets to replace Hakimi, but there is now uncertainty as to the feasibility of his arrival.

This is because of the player’s excellent performances with the Netherlands during the group stage of EURO 2020, which will likely lead to his club PSV hoping to demand a higher fee for him than before.

It is not thought to be likely, on the back of the 25-year-old’s form with his country, that PSV would be willing to accept an offer valued at €20 million for the right0back’s services.
