Achraf Hakimi will set the record for the highest transfer fee ever received by Inter should the Moroccan depart from the club for the expected fee of €70 million.

This was brought up today on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who compared the fee proposed for Hakimi to the fees which arrived when other Nerazzurri player have departed.

The deal for the 22-year-old is expected to be closed in the coming days, with Paris Saint-Germain the heavy favourites despite Chelsea still maintaining an interest which would involve sending a player in return.

PSG’s offer is cash-only, however, and would represent important business by the Nerazzurri who need to bring cash in before the end of the month as part of a financial plan to meet specific targets.

Hakimi cost the club €40 million when he arrived last summer from Real Madrid, and a sale for €70 million would represent capital gains of €30 million for a player who has only been at the club for one season.

The current most expensive deal for an outgoing Nerazzurri player is Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s transfer to Barcelona in 2009, which brought in a fee of €69.5 million.

The second highest fee ever received by Inter for a player also came from PSG, with Mauro Icardi departing for €50 million before add-ons, and the other players to be among the most lucratively sold by the club are Ronaldo (€45 million), Matteo Kovacic (€38 million), and Mario Balotelli (€29.5 million).
