Max Hagmayr, the agent of Inter winger Valentino Lazaro, has opened up about the future of the 25-year-old Austrian.

Speaking to Italian news outlet CMIT TV, as reported by FCInter1908, Hagmayr explained that there is not currently any news on Lazaro’s future, but that more will be known in the next two to three weeks.

Lazaro joined the Nerazzurri from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2019, but struggled to break into the starting eleven under Antonio Conte, with the player departing on loan to Newcastle for the second half of his first season.

Last season the Austrian returned to the Bundesliga, spending the season on loan with Borussia Monchengladbach where he made 28 appearances in all competitions.

Lazaro is set to return from his loan in the summer, although there is not yet any indication where his future will lay, although Hagmayr suggests that he could play in Serie A, whether that is for Inter or another club.

Speaking about his current contacts with Inter about the player the agent said:

“I’m currently in Vienna, I don’t know if there will be contact with [Inter CEO Beppa] Marotta and [Inter Sporting Director Piero] Ausilio in the next few days. The market is very slow right now, in 2-3 weeks there may be news about him.”

“We are calm about him. There is a chance that next season he will continue playing in Italy. We will see how these possibilities develop.”

Hagmayr also gave an update about the Austrian’s injury situation, stating:

“It is difficult to see him playing [in the round of sixteen against Italy], he is injured. He will not play that match, but he could take the pitch in the next one if they go through.”
