Monaco striker Keita Balde is keen on a reunion with Simone Inzaghi at Inter and has expressed his wish to the manager in person, according to reports.

This from today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 26-year-old, who spent the 2018-19 season on loan with the Nerazzurri, spoke to the incoming Inter manager while the pair were both on holiday in Capri.

The Senegalese forward had the most productive season of his career playing under Inzaghi in his final season at Lazio in 2017-18, scoring 16 goals from 31 appearances in Serie A alone.

After that season the player earned himself a move to Monaco, with loan spells with the Nerazzurri in 2018-19 and Sampdoria last season, but he has never replicated the form he showed in his final season with the Biancocelesti.

It is not thought that the player will return to Sampdoria next season, but it is unclear where his future could lay.

The Senegalese is thought to have a relationship of mutual respect and affection with the new Inter boss, with the coach having been in charge of the Lazio Primavera side while the player was a star there, and overseen his development culminating in his impressive 2016-17 season.

The player has proposed a reunion at the Giuseppe Meazza, but for now this is something which could only happen in the future without any movement towards a transfer immediately.
