Inter received a visit from the agent of Lille defender Sven Botman’s agent Francesco Mineiro yesterday, prompting speculation that a deal for the Dutchman could be up for discussion.

This is according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the player has been admired by Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio for at least a year.

It is not believed that there are any negotiations to bring the 21-year-old to the Giuseppe Meazza at the moment, though this could change if Inter’s situation does.

Botman is thought to be a target of Inter’s Serie A rivlas Atalanta, who will look to maintain and strengthen the quality of their squad after achieving their second consecutive third-place finish last season.

Botman joined Lille last summer from Ajax after having impressed on loan with Herenveen, and was a standout performer as the Alsatian club upset favourites PSG to win the Ligue 1 title.

The young center-back could certainly be a viable target for any number of Serie A clubs, and Inter should not be ruled out of contention for his signature.
