A major step forward appears to be on the horizon for Achraf Hakimi’s move from Inter to Paris Saint-Germain, with the medical examinations for the player scheduled for next week.

This is according to French journalist Saber Desfarges, who reported in a tweet that the deal is close to being finalized and the player wants a move to the French capital.

Hakimi has been linked to PSG for some weeks, with Inter expected to make a major sale before the end of the month as part of their financial plan and the player one of the club’s most highly-valued assets.

Chelsea are also thought to be a club who have maintained a strong interest in the 22-year-old, but it now appears that the Parisians have beaten them to his signature.

PSG Sporting Director Leonardo intends to close on the deal very soon, and Inter are thought to be ready to accept the French club’s prospective offer.

PSG are also hoping that the player can make his move official and join head coach Mauricio Pochettino’s squad before training is resumed, Desfarges reports.

His tweet reads:

Achraf Hakimi very close to PSG. Deal between Inter Milan and Paris being finalized. Medical visit expected next week. PSG are hopeful to complete the signing before resuming training. Achraf Hakimi wants to play for Paris SG.
