Alex Cordaz has given his thoughts about rejoining Inter now that the 38-year-old has officially been unveiled as a Nerazzurri player.
The announcement that Cordaz had joined the club was made official earlier today, and the keeper also spoke to Inter TV, as reported by FCInterNews.
The keeper, who returns to the club after fifteen years away having left the Nerazzuri in 2006, was surprised to have found his way back to the Giuseppe Meazza after so many years away, but he is also happy to be back at Inter and feels at home.
Cordaz hopes that he can make a major contribution to future successes with the Nerazzurri, and gives assurance that he will give his best now that he has rejoined his boyhood club.
Cordazjoins from Crotone where he spent six years and eventually became captain, and he is confirmed to have signed a one-year contract which takes him to June of 2022.
Cordaz’s words:
“It gives me great satisfaction, I am very proud of this move and I hope to make a real contribution.”
When he learned that Inter wanted to sign him he said:
“It was a blast from the past, it was all a bit strange, it only really sunk in after a few days and it gave me great pride and joy.”
Sitting around the Inter trophy room Cordaz mused:
“It makes you understand even better what it means to be an Interista and what it means to cheer for these colours, for me to be here taking pictures in front of all these trophies is a source of pride, I am back in the family.”
On what he expects to contribute as a goalkeeper:
“I expect to give a big hand to the team and to all of Inter.”
He said that he has not yet talked to Inter manager Simone Inzaghi:
“I got here practically first thing, so we will wait until July 8 when we’re all together.”
Cordaz closed with a message to Nerazzurri fans: “Support us and stay close to us because we need you to keep dreaming big!”
