Inter defender Stefan de Vrij is the player to have completed the most ball recoveries during the group stage of EURO 2020.

This is confirmed in a Twitter post by the official account of the Eredivisie, which shows a graphic stating that the 29-year-old’s 29 actions to win the ball back during the Netherlands’ three group stage matches is more than any other player at the tournament so far.

The Netherlands are back in action on Sunday when they will play the Czech Republic in their first knockout game.

The post reads: “Stefan de Vrij has currently recovered the most balls of all players at the European Championship. How do you think the central defender is doing so far?
