Stefano Sensi could depart on loan from the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in order to find form and consistent playing time after the arrival of Hakan Calhanoglu at Inter.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report that the Turk’s arrival could mean that Sensi’s opportunities in midfield are limited, and the Nerazzurri could seek to send him to a club where he will get more minutes.

Sensi signed for Inter from Sassuolo in the summer of 2019, where it was hoped that the midfielder would become a major part of Antonio Conte’s project for Inter.

However, despite starting strongly with the club, the 25-year-old’s two seasons at the club have been regularly interrupted by injuries, restricting his ability to impact the team or build momentum despite sparks which have shown his talent during the last season’s Scudetto triumph.

It had been thought that Sensi could be relied on more next season in midfield with the stricken Christian Eriksen set to miss all or most of the season, but the Nerazzurri instead decided to sign AC Milan’s out-of-contract Calhanoglu in the role, and Sensi could be behind the 27-year-old in Simone Inzaghi’s plans.

The Italian could benefit from a season away from the Giuseppe Meazza, where he could showcase his abilities regularly and earn a spot back in Inter’s first team or raise his value for an eventual sale.
