Inter have identified Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin as a possible replacement for Achraf Hakimi, with the Moroccan’s move to Paris Saint-Germain close.

This is according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that the Nerazzurri have made an offer to the Gunners for the Spanish full-back on loan with an option to buy.

Hakimi will undergo his medicals in Paris in the next day or two, and the deal for his sale should be done before the end of the month, so the Nerazzurri must search for his replacement.

Bellerin’s name has joined the list recently, and the 26-year-old could arrive at the Giuseppe Meazza if Inter are able to bring an offer to his current club which meets their valuation for the player.

However, for the time being Inter are thought to be far away from Arsenal on his Spaniard’s valuation, with the London club said to be demanding at least €20 million for his signature and the Nerazzurri not currently able to go higher than €10 million on Hakimi’s replacement for economic reasons.

Inter will hope that by structuring the offer as a loan with the right to buy the player permanently, they can bring the player in this summer and then make a payment that the Gunners are happy with next year when there is more room in the club’s balance sheet with money coming in.

Meanwhile, it is thought that among other possibilities for Hakimi’s replacement, Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta is currently the most likely alternative, while Lazio’s Manuel Lazzarri, requested by manager Simone Inzaghi, could prove difficult to acquire with Biancocelesti owner Claudio Lotito reluctant to deal with Inter over the player.
