Inter will play a friendly match against Spanish side Atletico Madrid on August 8 as part of their pre-season.
This according to Israeli broadcaster One, as reported by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, who report that the friendly match will be organized by Sylvan Adams and Danny Benaim of the Comtech company.
The match brings together the current champions of Serie A and La Liga, and it is hoped that the prestige attached to both teams will make the event popular and well-received.
The Nerazzurri’s pre-season is already also reported to include the Florida Cup, a tournament in Orlando which will see them up against English sides Arsenal and Everton, and the Colombians Milionarios.
It is not yet known which squad members will be in attendance for pre-season friendlies, with many Inter players occupied with international duty and having to postpone their much-needed rest.
These pre-season encounters will give an early glimpse into Simone Inzaghi’s ideas for the team as he experiments with formations and players against top opposition without the pressures of competitions.
