Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan has given his thoughts about club and former international teammate Romelu Lukaku.

Speaking to Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggero, the Belgian talked about Lukaku’s professionalism and strength of character.

Lukaku’s impressive form for the Nerazzurri has gained many admirers, and he has transferred this to the Belgian national team, with the 28-year-old’s goalscoring exploits and all-around play vital to the Red Devils’ progression through the group stage and past round-of-sixteen opponents Portugal into the knockout rounds.

Commenting prior to Belgium’s quarterfinal clash with Italy, Nainggolan gave his views on some of the qualities which have allowed Lukaku to reach such impressive heights for his club and country.

Nainggolan’s words show a side of Lukaku which fans can only speculate on, but which the midfielder will have witnessed every day as he trains and shares a dressing room with his compatriot, and give supporters an indicator that Lukaku’s commitment and consistency are not destined to let up any time soon.

Nainggolan said of Lukaku, he’s “A very serious professional, he’s thin on vacation but before the games he makes no mistakes.”
