Inter have made extending the contracts of key squad members a priority in the summer transfer window, with Marcelo Brozovic, Allessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella all players whose futures the Nerazzurri hopes to be secure on.

This according to Italian new outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the club are working on all three player’s deals now that the process to see Achraf Hakimi leave the club has been essentially completed.

The Nerazzurri are looking at several areas of the squad as they head into the summer window, with some players expected to be sold and arrivals anticipated, including a replacement for Hakimi.

However, the club are determined not to neglect the situations of some of the most important current squad members, and are looking to confirm the status of key players in Simone Inzaghi’s squad before the beginning of next season.

Brozovic is out of contract at the end of June 2022, though the club are working to extend the Croatian’s time at the club.

Barella and Bastoni, meanwhile, are considered to be highly important players in the club’s future and the club will look to extent their contracts past 2024, when they currently expire.
