Inter are looking to resume contract extension talks with striker Lautaro Martinez, with discussions having been interrupted when the Argentine changed agents.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Nerazzurri held talks with the player’s current agent Alejandro Camano today.

Camano is thought to have been at Inter’s headquarters to work on the deal to take Achraf Hakimi, another of his clients, to Paris Saint-Germain, but the situation of Martinez was also thought to have come up.

The 23-year-old’s contract currently expires in June 2023, and with interest in the player coming from big Spanish clubs especially, Inter will hope to renew with the player to keep his situation at the Giuseppe Meazza secure.

The player is currently thought to be certain to remain at the Nerazzurri for next season, but the club will not want to let his contract run into its final year next summer without clarity on his situation.

With the player’s agent Camano having made an appearance at the club’s headquarters today, it is thought that Inter have brought up their intention to resume contact talks and will hope that talks can start up again soon.
