Achraf Hakimi’s transfer for Inter to Paris Saint-Germain to Inter is set to be confirmed today after being thought to be close at hand for several days.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that only the very last details need to be worked out on the Moroccan’s switch of clubs and he is ready to be officially announced.
Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano was in Milan yesterday to visit the Inter headquarters, and it is reported that he is also in discussions with the Nerazzurri today.
The Parisians had been chasing the 22-year-old for some weeks, with English club Chelsea thought to be their main rivals for the player’s signature.
Both PSG and Chelsea had made offers and been in ongoing discussions with Inter, with various means of meeting the Nerazzurri’s €70 million valuation discussed, but it is thought that last week PSG stepped up their pursuit by bringing an offer which Inter were happy to accept.
With Inter needing the revenues from Hakimi’s sale to meet financial targets and wanting the transfer to be accounted for by the end of the month, and the player happy to play in the French capital, there are not more obstacles to the transfer and he will be a PSG player soon.
