Ajax’s Andre Onana has emerged as a target for Inter, with the Nerazzurri potentially looking to bring the 25-year-old in when his contract expires next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the club are monitoring Onana’s situation with a view to replacing Samir Handanovic with him.

The Nerazzurri are looking for a deputy for Handanovic for next season with Andrei Radu likely to move on in the summer, but also considering options for the long-term replacement of the current Number One with the Slovenian turning 37 next month.

Onana’s contract with Ajax is currently set to run out in June 2022, and should he not renew with the Dutch champions, he could arrive at the Giuseppe Meazza on a free transfer next summer.

The Cameroonian is currently serving a one-year doping ban from football, but is set to return to the pitch in November when the ban ends.
