Inter could sign Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana for free next summer, with the club looking to move forward on bringing the Cameroonian in when his contract expires.

This according to Luca Marchetti in his column for Tuttomercatoweb.com, who reports that the Nerazzurri are ready to step up their efforts to bring Onana in.

The club are thought to be considering the goalkeeping situation at the Giuseppe Meazza for the future, with current Number One Samir Handanovic turning 37 this month and last season’s deputy Andrei Radu possibly set to depart in the summer with Real Sociedad interested in the Romanian.

The club are thought to be monitoring various options for a backup for next season with Handanovic set to remain as first-choice, but the search for his long-term successor is also ongoing.

Onana is a name who has been linked in recent days, and Marchetti reports that the Nerazzurri will make a serious attempt to bring the player in after his current deal has ended in June of 2022, and that the club are expected to step up their efforts to bring the 25-year-old in.
