Inter have said goodbye to Ashley Young, with the club sending a farewell message on their official site.

The message includes the 35-year-old Englishman’s own farewell remarks, and thanks the player for his contributions since joining in January of 2020.

The Nerazzurri remind fans of Young’s initial statements upon joining the club, that he hoped to follow in the footsteps of fellow Englishman Paul Ince.

Young was part of a team that finished second in Serie A during his first half-season with the club, but in his second he realized his ambition to win a trophy, contributing to a side which brought the Giuseppe Meazza its first Scudetto in eleven years.

The Nerazzurri’s statement praises Young for his contributions on the pitch, but also for his effect in the dressing room and his character.

Young departs from Inter having made 59 appearances and scored five goals in all competitions since joining the club from Manchester United, and the Nerazzurri wish him luck at his new club Aston Villa.
