Young Belgian midfielder Xian Emmers has returned to Inter after a successful loan spell with Belgian side Almere City.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri are now evaluating the 21-year-old’s future.

Emmers’s time at the Belgian second division club is thought to have been productive, with the player having made sixteen appearances and scored six goals despite struggling with injury.

The player is not currently thought to have a place in the Inter setup at the moment, and the club will look to find a new destination for him for next season.

The player’s contract is set to expire at the end of June 2022, and so the Nerazzurri will either extend his contract and then loan him out again, or look to sell him outright this summer.

It remains to be seen how Inter will deal with the player’s situation, though losing him for free next summer is not considered to be an option.
