Sassuolo could look to sign Zinho Vanheusden from Inter, with the 21-year-old defender set to return to Inter from Standard Liege.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the Neroverdi are interested in the Belgian.

Inter are thought to be buying the player back from Standard for around €16 million due to an agreement which was reached with the Belgian club at the time they reached a deal for the player’s permanent transfer in 2019.

Given the financial situation of the Nerazzurri and the club’s plan to meet strict financial targets in the summer, the player could be moved on immediately this summer in order to recoup a fee.

With Brazilian Marlon having followed head coach Roberto De Zerbi to Shakhtar Donetsk, the Neroverdi will likely require defensive reinforcements, and appear to have identified Vanheusden as a target.

It is thought that Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevalli is an admirer of the young center-back, and that he believes that the player will be able to settle quickly in Serie A.
