Benfica are interested in singing Inter wing-back Valentino Lazaro, but for the moment they are not planning to make an offer for the Austrian.

This according to today’s print edition of Lisbon-based newspaper Record, who report that the Portuguese giants have targeted the player on loan in the past and are still interested in him in this window, but that a concrete offer for his signature is not expected to be immediately forthcoming.

Lazaro is thought to be in the shop window at Inter, with the wing-back having failed to establish himself under Antonio Conte since joining from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2019 and not in the plans of new coach Simone Inzaghi for next season.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with Borussia Monchengladbach and it is thought that the Nerazzurri would like to offload him this summer.

Benfica are interested in the player, but as of yet the Nerazzurri will have to consider other possible destination with the Lisbon-based club not yet ready to make an offer.

Earlier today it was announced that Valentino Lazaro has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating currently until further notice.
