Inter have made Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca their first priority target for a striker in the summer, but his current club do not want to loan him.

This according to Rome-based newspaper la Repubblica, via FCInter1908, who report that the Neroverdi are not interested in loaning the 22-year-old, who the Nerazzurri consider to be the top candidate to join the attacking rotation and back up Romelu Lukaku.

Scamacca spent last season out on loan with Genoa, where he made a positive impression and won a number of admirers, with the Nerazzurri among the clubs hoping to sign him.

The club have made him their number one attacking target as they hope to bring in a player with the right profile to join the attacking rotation available to head coach Simone Inzaghi, but they could face problems in trying to sign him, with his current club not open to any offers to take him in on loan.
