Inter could miss out on Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata this summer, with La Dei reluctant to let go of the Colombian during the transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Bergamo-based club will only consider Zapata’s departure if they first have a replacement lined up.

Zapata is thought to be a major target for the Nerazzurri as they look to replace Romelu Lukaku following the Belgian’s sale to Chelsea, but they have yet to make any inroads with his current club.

Atalanta do not wish to part ways with the striker before securing an adequate replacement, and should this not happen they will not be likely to deal for the 30-year-old.

The Colombian remains in the thinking of Inter, but unless La Dei can find a replacement they are happy with then they may have to pursue other targets in their search for an heir to Lukaku.
