Inter defender Milan Skriniar is disappointed to have dropped points in the Nerazzurri’s 1-1 draw with city rivals AC Milan earlier this evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the match, the Slovak defender rued his team’s inability to get the result they wanted in yet another vital head-to-head match despite having looked in control of the game for long stretches.

Inter went ahead early through a Hakan Calhanoglu penalty before their lead was cancelled not long after when the Rossoneri quickly responded with a Stefan de Vrij own goal from a set piece.

From there on the match hardly lacked event, and the Nerazzurri in particular created a number of dangerous situation including several missed chances, not least a missed penalty.

However, despite the positive play throughout the match, neither side were able to find a way through after those early goals and they had to share the points, not the most satisfying result for Inter.

“Given the opportunities, for me they are two points lost,” Skriniar stated. “We had to win.”

“We are missing the last step, we must take advantage of the opportunities,” he went on. “Today we dominated, but unfortunately only one point came to us.”

However, he was also positive about the performances by his team, stating that “We are doing well, we are more balanced and organized.”
