Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi got his approach right in yesterday evening’s Milan derby despite the draw with city rivals AC Milan, according to Italian media.

The 45-year-old was given a 6.5/10 score for how he set his team up in the player ratings for the match in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the same score given to Hakan Calhanoglu who is considered to be the team’s best performer on the night.

Inter dropped two points against their city rivals due to a number of good chances squandered, but the Corriere commends Inzaghi for the moments where his team looked comfortable defending and then attacking on the counter and especially for the half-hour period where they appeared completely in control of possession.

Meanwhile, Calhanoglu is praised for his energy and for the early penalty that he won and scored against his former side, while Matteo Darmian is given a 6/10 score for his display on both sides of the ball and Marcelo Brozovic received the same score for how he took control of the match in the second half.

Lautaro Martinez is named as the Nerazzurri’s worst performer, receiving only 4.5/10 for his display on the basis that he squandered the team’s best chances to go ahead and get a better result.
