Inter striker Edin Dzeko has picked up a muscle injury when he came off in yesterday evening’s derby draw with AC Milan, but it is not anything serious.

This according to Bosnian news outlet sportsport.ba, who report that the 35-year-old will undergo more detailed routine tests today but that early signs suggest that the problem is not a major one.

Dzeko immediately pulled up following a spring during the second half of yesterday’s match, and signalled to the bench right away that he needed to be substituted off as he looked to be moving uncomfortably.

The Bosnian’s condition will have been a worry to the Nerazzurri given his importance to the team, and it was not initially clear whether the issue was serious and could rule him out for any sustained amount of time.

However, Dzeko does not appear to be suffering from any serious injuries and is just dealing with muscular fatigue, although it remains to be seen if he will be ready to return to the pitch during his national team’s World Cup qualifiers over the international break.
