Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has been named as his team’s best performer in yesterday evening’s 1-1 draw with AC Milan in the derby by Italian media.

The Turk was awarded a grade of 7/10 in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, while teammate Lautaro Martinez was named as the Nerazzurri’s worst performer with a 5/10 score.

Calhanoglu played in his first Milan derby for Inter after leaving the Rossoneri in the summer, and he stepped up to the occasion with the energy he displayed to drive his team throughout the game, and his early winning and scoring of a penalty proved crucial.

Meanwhile, wing-back Matteo Darmian was named as the second best player, also with a 7/10 score, for his complete display on both sides of the ball.

The likes of Samir Handnaovic, Ivan Perisic, and Alessandro Bastoni were just behind Darmian, and then Marcelo Brozovic and Milan Skriniar were also commended.

Of the rest of the squad, the Gazzetta were less complimentary, with substitutes Denzel Dumfries and Arturo Vidal having been given 5.5/10 grades due to their failure to impact the game positively.

The lowest score, however, was reserved for Martinez, who displayed effort but missed several good chances including the second penalty awarded to the Nerazzurri on the night.
