Inter are not yet ready to meet the wage demands of Marcelo Brozovic as they look to agree on a contract extension with the midfielder.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the club are ready to go as high as net €5.5 million per season in their offer while the 28-year-old is still holding out for €7 million.

The Nerazzurri are set to hold a meeting on the Croat’s contract situation, with no agreement yet having been reached to extend his deal which is set to expire at the end of June 2022.

Securing the midfielder’s future beyond next summer is a priority for the Nerazzurri, but it remains to be seen if they will be able to do so given the economic distance between the parties still.

The Nerazzurri could reach an amount closer to €6-6.5 million net per season when relatively easy-to-achieve add-ons are included in the total amount, but it remains to be seen if this will be enough to convince the midfielder and his entourage.
