Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has been suffering from poor form in front of goal in his last several matches, but this is not likely to last for too long according to Italian media.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport argue that the Argentine is going through a bad reason but there is reason to believe that he will find his shooting boots again.

Martinez missed a penalty to put his side ahead in Sunday’s derby clash against AC Milan in addition to misfiring when other good chances fell his way.

These only the latest in a string of missed chances for the Argentine who has not found the back of the net since the return from the October international break, with his most recent goal for the Nerazzurri coming against Sassuolo before the break.

However, the Corriere argues, this is something that strikers go through from time to time, and they point out that Martinez scored five goals in six Serie A matches after missing his team’s opener against Genoa through suspension.

During that period the 24-year-old old failed to find the back of the net against Fiorentina, showing that even as he adjusts to life without former strike partner Romelu Lukaku he can still be prolific.

Martinez has had a month to forget and must continue working on being more clinical and on becoming more comfortable in his partnership with Edin Dzeko, but he showed earlier in the campaign that he can have good chemistry in this team and find the target regularly.
