Inter will meet with midfielder Marcelo Brozovic’s father and lawyer to begin talks on a contract extension sometime in mid-November.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the club will finally meet formally about the Croat’s contract after some postponements, and that the will of the player’s entourage is still to find an agreement on a renewal.

Some personal problems forced Brozovic’s entourage to postpone meetings that had reportedly been planned on a contract extension last month, but they are reportedly somewhat irritated by the rumours that he is stalling on a new deal or that an agreement could be difficult to find.

There is still a difference of €1-1.5 million net per season between the player’s demands and the club’s offer in terms of salary, but this can likely be overcome especially given that the player has continually reiterated his desire to stay.

The Nerazzurri have long been aware that the midfielder switched agents from Miroslav Bicancic to his father and a family lawyer, and they have kept in contact.

Brozovic’s current contract still expires at the end of June 2022 and the interest of top European clubs including Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur among others remains, but next week the Nerazzurri will try and finally secure his future.
